I wrote this short piece of experimental fiction for a Beat writers class. The piece is a record of one experience in a 24 hour timeline. It was recently published in Spurt Literary Journal. Here is an excerpt and link to the full story:
This was my life at the time. 24 hours spun around my index finger pointing to more days spent in the same way. I was a hustler tromping on the grounds of an underground drug movement. Crawling through the labyrinth of needles, pills, and powder; I was snorting and smoking out the marrow of life. I was a senior in high school looking to graduate and attend college. I was also an inexperienced DJ who played at a few shows and clubs. One record of 24 hours among the countless 24 hours of my life will show one wooden sliver snagged in the flesh of my finger. This is that record.
